Kasa Code Club

Kasa Code Club is Kasa Future Makers Level 1. It introduces learners to creative coding, Scratch, problem-solving, AI discovery, and community-based technology projects — delivered through the Kasa Learning Academy and local facilitator-led sessions.

Curriculum overview

Module 1

Week 1 — Coding for Community Impact

What is code, and how can it help solve a real problem where you live?

Module 2

Week 2 — Block Coding with CodeMonkey

Give instructions to a computer using block-based puzzles. Sequences and loops.

Module 3

Week 3 — Sequences, Loops & Patterns in Scratch

Build your first animation in Scratch using loops and events.

Module 4

Week 4 — Inputs, Outputs & Interactive Programs

Design, then code — a quiz or story with at least two choices.

Module 5

Week 5 — Community Innovation Mini-Challenge

Pick a real local problem. Plan and build a small coded solution.

Module 6

Week 6 — Innovation Showcase

Present your project using the 4-part showcase format. Celebrate your journey.

Kasa Coding Foundations

A 6-week beginner coding program that helps learners build confidence, understand basic coding concepts, create simple interactive projects, work in teams, and use technology to respond to community challenges.

Kasa Coding Foundations is our 6-week beginner pilot. Each week builds a new skill and ends with a community-focused project.

Everything you need to know before your child or club joins a Kasa Code Club session.

How to prepare for your first session

A colourful one-pager for parents, guardians & facilitators — print it, share it, bring it to the first meet-up.

🎈 What actually happens at a Code Club session?

Each session mixes a short icebreaker or warm-up, a guided coding or AI activity, and time to share what learners built. Facilitators support small groups so every child gets to try, make mistakes, and celebrate wins.

⏰ How long is a session and how often do they run?

Sessions run for about 60–90 minutes, usually once a week during a term. On-site clubs follow a facilitator schedule; learners on the Academy can also progress at their own pace between sessions.

🎒 How should my child prepare?

No prior coding experience is needed — just curiosity! If joining online, a laptop or tablet with a modern browser and a stable internet connection is enough. For on-site clubs, the facilitator provides materials.

👀 Do parents or guardians need to attend?

No, but you’re always welcome to sit in on the first session. We encourage families to ask learners to demo what they built at home — it’s a great way to celebrate progress.

🛡 Is it safe and age-appropriate?

Yes. Kasa Code Club is designed for ages 8–13. All facilitators follow our safeguarding guidelines, and every activity is reviewed for age-appropriate content and safe online practice.
