Refund & Returns Policy

Most Kasa Learning Academy programmes and downloadable resources are free of charge. This policy explains what happens when a payment is involved — a paid programme place, a materials or kit contribution, or a donation to Kasa Foundation.

What this covers

This policy applies to payments made to Kasa Foundation through this site. It does not cover fees you pay directly to a third party — for example a competition entry fee, a partner platform subscription, or hardware bought from an external retailer. Those are governed by that provider’s own policy.

Cancelling a paid programme place

  • Cancel 14 days or more before the cohort start date: full refund.
  • Cancel between 13 and 3 days before the start date: 50% refund, since materials and facilitator time are already committed.
  • Cancel within 48 hours of the start date, or after sessions have begun: no refund, but we will try to transfer your place to a later cohort.
  • If Kasa Foundation cancels or reschedules a cohort and the new dates do not work for you: full refund.

Kits and physical materials

If a kit (for example a micro:bit or robotics set) arrives damaged, incomplete, or faulty, tell us within 14 days of receiving it and we will replace it or refund it. Unopened kits may be returned within 14 days in their original condition; return shipping is the sender’s responsibility unless the item was faulty. Opened consumable materials cannot be returned.

Digital resources

Downloadable guides, lesson plans, and activity packs on this site are free. Where a digital resource is ever paid for, it is refundable within 14 days if the file cannot be accessed or does not match its description.

Donations

Donations to Kasa Foundation are voluntary and generally non-refundable. If you made a duplicate donation or entered the wrong amount, contact us within 30 days and we will refund it.

How to request a refund

Email us with the name on the payment, the date and amount, the programme or item concerned, and what you would like to happen. We aim to reply within 5 working days and to process approved refunds within 10 working days, to the original payment method. Your bank or mobile money provider may take longer to show the funds.

Financial hardship

Cost should never be the reason a young person misses out. If a fee is a barrier, write to us before paying and we will look at a reduced contribution or a fully supported place.
